High Drama in Simland

Much machinima awesomeness to be found in The Sims 3, despite the game only having gone live for a month.

Seminar 13th June & No more food shortage

Been a busy busy month last month, tons of shit to sort out and finally one campaign of mine is coming out. :) I am part organizing a seminar coming on the 13th of June regarding on how to weather the current economy crisis. Things like how to turn this current shitty situation into something feasiable. Stories on how some of the biggest companies started during the great depression etc is something you will expect. Best of all, it’s FREE so do come and we can go lunch or something. For more info check out our homepage at www.uni-5.com.my .

Out of topic, I just received a cool email. I always wonder when I come across images like this. Is this done artificially or mother nature is just making things bigger to eat humans or something. Balancing the food chain. Haha but if these images are true, maybe by duplicating shit like that we are able to end world hunger. :)

OMD at war!

Yesterday marked the first of possibly many future attacks on the company, with the detonation of an improvised explosive device (IED) during lunch. The heinous attack occurred at the normally crowded pantry but thankfully two of the three devices were duds, resulting in a casualty count of zero.

The remnants of the IED

No known terrorist groups have stepped forward to claim responsibility to date, and authorities are baffled as to whom would make such a bold move against OMD. The only existing lead that is being investigated is online search mogul Yahoo!’s connection in the case via the gift fridge in which the three cans of explosive Diet Coke arrived.

Citizens are encouraged to come forward if they have any information in connection with the case. Only through the joint effort of the people can we put an end to the terror! We will never forget!

Investment tip gone bad.

A financial consultant gave me advice today, which I quickly acted upon. Unfortunately, the hot tip was one of those ‘almost there but not quite’ things. Too bad we all know that almost doesn’t count.

My idea of a financial investment plan

Awwwwwww...

Oh well, the suspense is always fun anyhow! :)

In numbness…

…we find peace.

Wonderful, innit?

Wierd people from around the world

Earlier this week, I went to watch the movie Star Trek with Laymin, Plat  and Adrian. Surprisingly it was a pretty good show considering I’m not much of a science movie buff. The story was easy to understand and well there was enough action to even keep Laymin awake. :) So imagine my surprise when I came across this video.

Enjoy.

Just another day

With the recent Perak case underway, it seems that our country is taking another step backwards. I used to laugh whenever I see Taiwanese politicians dish it out in Parliament. Can’t do that anymore. :( Well at least, now we are quite an highlight to our neighbouring countries and the world. One funny thing that come to my mind whenever I see all these, is that half a year ago I wouldn’t even look into it or well read it. Just skip into the lifestyle section. Now the 1st 10 pages of Star will be the 1st few pages I read.

Thankfully, my current shipment for my Reptiles Biz is coming to a close. With some luck, we will be able to get a flight end of this week and then I can sigh some relief and concentrate on other things on my plate. However, I am still looking for a MPV or 4 wheel drive to fetch some cargo from Penang to KLIA. Anyone with that transport that I could borrow for 2 days? :P We won’t be smuggling drugs so don’t worry.

Crap while writing these few paragraphs I have been sneezing non stop. Chun Seng owe me big for this. :( After a long day yesterday, Chun Seng got a mild Asthma attack and we drove to Sunway Hospital since it was like 2am. Dah la, my immune system is low due to lack of sleep. Hanging out with the other patients got me a bad cold and sore throat this morning. Thank god after taking some antibiotics, my stupid sore throat isn’t bothering me so much anymore. But the flu still is. :( Bah!

Shit it’s 4.30am now, better go sleep. Got to meet some Corporate sponsors tomorrow for one of my campaigns. :( At least I can threaten to give them a virus if they don’t pay up. Haha. Cheers.

Bad Uncle

So I think I told off a niece, thinking she was none other than Don aka aCe.

Simple mistake, really. She referred to me as “Adrian kuku” (uncle adrian in hokkien) in an sms after accidentally calling me and hanging up. Seeing how Don always calls me Dinghy Kuku (dinghy dick would be an approximate translation), I naturally assumed it was Don and went off blathering. She then said it was (ZQ) and that her mom had used the phone.

Me still being in a bit of a mood and not knowing who the hell it was (my grandma on my mom’s side mass produced uncles and aunts, damned if I can remember all my nephews and nieces)… I shot off a query as to who the heck that was and just how exactly I knew her mom. :P She seemed to pull an emo trip after that, griping bout me forgetting who she was and once again confirming whom I was by mentioning my sister. This was all weirding the shit outta me, so I left it at that. The whole episode did make me chuckle, though.

Funny how miscommunication has never been easier than in the golden age of communications. SMSes ftw!

Watch and learn, Mr Lucas!

It’s no big secret that I’ve always been a Star Wars fan, ever since I was a kid. The first three movies in the franchise (ep. 4,5,6) just blew me away and then came the Expanded Universe in the form of novels, etc. Even through the prequels, I still viewed the series in a positive light.

The Star Trek however, had never really captivated me until tonight. I had always thought of the series as a dry, superficially technical and generally uninspiring series. But while the past three SW flicks were major letdowns, the most recent Star Trek film has brought back some of that magic that the original SW films had.

Keeping things spoiler-free, I’ll just remark that there is a heck of a lot more emotional / character development that I’m used to seeing in a Star Trek piece. The characters are very ‘human’ and likable, and their personal struggles are believable as opposed to the original STs in which I found them to be standoffish and impersonal. This helps the cast play on the heartstrings rather effectively throughout the movie, as one grows rather attached to the portrayed chars (aside from the somewhat comical and anticipated death of a redshirt).

I’m all for this new breed of Star Trek, with its sometimes comical action, heavily human approach to storytelling, which once again I find very reminiscent of what made me love the original SW. So please, Mr Lucas, if you somehow ever stumble across this little post… go watch Star Trek and get Star Wars right the next time around, you scrub!
